Nine weeks into the league 54 players from 16 countries have participated so far. This week 2 new players from Nigeria 🇳🇬: adebayoademo & lamfat participated. The numbers that participated in this week’s tournament stayed the same at 25. The rankings are still being dominated in the main by the most consistent high ranking players who have participated in 8 or all 9 tournaments. The only thing exception is ayirungo 🇬🇭 who has participated in 6 tournaments but is in the 4th position.
After the intensely contested 9th tournament of the season Oga Ot’a of Nigeria 🇳🇬 mrjohnson won the tournament with a clean 7 wins & continued to increase his lead to 57.0 points. A lead of 20.5 points ahead of abilohre 🇬🇭 & serikaktayev 🇰🇿 the 2nd & 3rd positioned players, both with 36.5 points. In third place with 36.0 points is roberisco 🇬🇭. Will the other players be able to catch up, as the competition intensifies with the entry of more master players. With 43 tournaments to go in this season’s league, there is still time for consistent players to make their mark.
Well done to everyone who has participated 👏👏👏. Do well to recruit other players to participate in these tournaments, from your countries in order to enhance your nations scores. This will enable us to surpass last season’s tally of 112 players.
Please take note, the first three positioned players who are International or Full members of The Oware Society will be awarded cash prizes. Therefore If you place in the top 3, and wish to be considered for a cash award, join The Oware Society. If donors & sponsorship can be acquired, and we are able to raise enough funds from member subscriptions we will put in place a prize fund for other categories: top placed, female, junior & continental players who have International, Full or Family membership.
