Twenty three weeks into the 2nd season of the Individual Online Oware League, the number of participants increased by 3 to 77 players from 27 known countries. The numbers that participated in this weekโs tournament increased by 5 to 25.
This week Nigeria ๐ณ๐ฌ represented the Oga Otโa of Nigeria mrjohnson claimed back the title from the Ghanaian champion abilohre ๐ฌ๐ญ. However is wasnโt an easy win, as mrjohnson lost to abilohre, who also lost to jamal123 ๐ฌ๐ญ & roberisco ๐ฌ๐ญ who placed 2nd & 3rd respectively. Congratulations to this weekโs champion mrjohnson.
roberisco ๐ฌ๐ญ & harrison01 placed 4th & 5th respectively. This tournament lived up to last weekโs tournament dramatics. Replete with several upsets and network outages that especially affected the Nigerian ๐ณ๐ฌ players: olowolafeabey & oladelefire, well done to them for persevering. drusilla representing Antigua & Barbuda ๐ฆ๐ฌ, participated in the league for the first time this season. Well done to both done to everyone who participated. Once again a very competitive tournament. ๐๐๐.
With this result & the Oga Otโa of Nigeria ๐ณ๐ฌ mrjohnsonโs lead has been marginally increased to 17 points from the nearest contender abilohre with 97.5 points. With 29 tournaments to go in this 2nd season of the Individual league, taking absences, network disruptions and upsets, the title is still up for grabs & it is not a forgone conclusion who will win it.
Well done to everyone who participated in the tournament ๐๐๐. Do well to recruit other players to participate in these tournaments, from your countries in order to enhance your nations scores. This will enable us to surpass last seasonโs tally of 112 players. We have surpassed the half way point, but the half point for the number of tournaments is coming up fast, with 3 tournaments to go.
Please take note, the first three positioned players who are International or Full members of The Oware Society will be awarded cash prizes. Therefore If you place in the top 3, and wish to be considered for a cash award, join The Oware Society. If donors & sponsorship can be acquired, and we are able to raise enough funds from member subscriptions we will put in place a prize fund for other categories: top placed, female, junior & continental players who have International, Full or Family membership.
